Help Spread the Word

If you’re reading this, you know what we want and when we want it, but what you may not realize is that we can’t do it without your help. We need you to step in, step up and throw down whatever gauntlet you have. If we stand alone we’ll be no more than a voice on the wind, but if we stand together we can make this world a better place for humanity to live in.

If you have half a brain and two seconds to spare, here are just a few of the countless things you can do to help us out:

Write your congressman – Write a strongly worded, personal letter to your congressman, congresswoman, senator, governor or even your local mayor and city council members. Every voice that speaks is a voice that is heard, and you have a voice as a constituent, and we need those words to be spoken without fear. Even if you think they already have it, send them a copy of our bill for them to introduce as law. Even if we’re defeated by the corporate fat wigs at the national level, getting NASCAR out of cities, counties and individual states will be a powerful first step in a movement that can change the world.

Tip off your local news – Every news station has a "tip line", and as a viewer, reader or listener to that outlet, you’re entitled to share this breaking news with them. If you care about your world and believe in this cause, take the minute or so it takes to go online and contact your local newspaper, television and radio news programs to tell them what you think. Also take a minute to let the national guys like CNN, MSNBC, FOX, PBS and others know what you think. They’re often starved for news, and anything you give them might end up being the next breaking headline, story at eleven. With your help we can make this story unavoidable, but our voices alone won’t do it, no matter how reasonable and scientifically based we are.

Tell Your Friends – Tell your friends, coworkers and family about us. Send this web site to all of them and tell them to get active and let their voices be heard as well. Maybe you don’t have time to write to your congress or tell the local news about us, but if you tell just ten of your friends, who in turn tell ten television stations, we’ll have the whole nation covered within just a few days. Please encourage them to get involved.

Call in to Radio Shows – If you have a favorite radio show, next time you call in, give us a shout out. We’re only tying to fix the world and we can’t do it alone. NASCAR has millions of fans, even though it’s bad for the world our children live in. We desperately need your help, so if you find yourself on-air with Limbaugh, Larry King or Seacrest, holler “Ban NASCAR Now!” and we’ll know we’re getting closer to our goal.

Boycott NASCAR – It may not sound like much, but every person we can get to agree to boycott NASCAR is one more voice speaking up against the runaway destruction of our world humanitat. Make a pledge right now that you will not attend NASCAR, you will not purchase their attractive line of well made merchandise with the latest driver’s signatures flawlessly embroidered on the back, and that you will not so much as talk about it at work, except to say what a terrible thing it is.

Sign Our Online Petition – Take a minute and add your name to our online petition that demands an immediate end to NASCAR. These greedy corporate dogs are all about their precious, filthy money, not the sport or doing what’s inextricably the right thing, so we doubt it will help, but if we get enough signatures our movement will become unstoppable. Also tell your friends to sign our petition, and I mean really encourage them. Call them on the phone and remind them, send follow up emails, do whatever you must to get this all important point across.

Use our Banners and Buttons on Your Blog – If you’ve got a blog, MySpace, or some other place on the web, you can help the cause just by giving us a link! You don’t have to, but if you don’t, you might not sleep well at night, and your children might not sleep at all (and your grandchildren may be born without eyelids, so try sleeping through that!). You know the right thing to do and linking to us doesn’t cost you one tin cent, so get on board! This is especially helpful if you have a dot-edu site, like through your college. If you have one of those and link to us, please let us know so we can personally thank you.

This whole thing is like saying that murder is wrong, unless you’re in the military. It’s like saying the constitution protects you unless you are an insurgent. It’s like saying ethnic cleansing is wrong unless they’re Jews. Is NASCAR the modern Nazi party? Maybe. You wouldn’t go into a new experience with your spouse without a safe word, so why is this so different. What if our safe word is ‘Save the Planet’? That’s how we feel about it.
